Can't make calls with the car charger plugged in!!!!

When I plug the car charger into my V400, I can't make calls. It tells me "call failed".

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I'm using a Belkin brand charger (the model made for the V60, T720, etc.) and it works as a charger and powers the phone fine.

I don't have a Motorola brand charger to try. Could it be that the Belkin isn't compatible?

I have the standard car charger (a cheap one I bought off of Ebay) and I have the Motorola Hands Free Car Kit (used as a car speaker and charger in one) and I don't have a problem making phone calls with either of them.

Forgive me if this may appear as a dumb question, but dealing with people that have various levels of expertise, I must ask... When the call failed, did you try dialing a different phone number (maybe your home number) just to see if it would go through?

I've received this message a couple of times (without being connected to the charger) in the past. But, it only appears to happen once in a while when I'm calling my dad's cell phone and other number would go through fine.

I tried dialing different numbers and it didn't work.

But at soon as I unplug the car charger, the phone will dial.

I confirmed that it wasn't a network problem, etc. by trying it later. The phone still didn't dial with the car charger plugged in.
