attention motorola v400ers.
hi everyone. isn't $2.50 for a ringtone off cingularwireless such a rip? i guess u can say its worth it, because having the voice along with the ringtone is mighty fine. however, i can get you those ringtones for only $2 a ringtone, $5 for 3 ringtones. check out my listing on ebay and tell me what u think.

why pay for them when you can get the same music tones from the cingular site fore fee?? HERES HOW:

1. go to cingularextras.com
2. Click on the music tone you want to hear
(another pop up box should come up)
3. When you see the pop up box right click the play button and go to PROPERTIES and click on it
4. another pop up box will show up
5. now on that pop up box go to where it says LOCATION and highlight and copy that URL to another window
6. when you enter that URL in the other window it will either play it in your Windows Media player or whatever program you play your music on.
7. Save the .wma file and then you can covert it to an MP3 . You can use MP3 to Wave Converter PLUS found here http://www.mp3towave.com/

one option is to use Mobile Phone Tools & USB cable. If ya dont got it, there's a link somewhere on the messageboard posted by FENTU that tells you how to get it.

other option is to create an account on http://www.myphonefiles.com and upload your mp3 files to there and from there it will guide you on how to d/l it to your phone.

I would download Audacity to edit your MP3's. When you're done editing, you will need the lame_enc.dll to export the file back into an MP3. I have links for everything you'll need to download here:

Ok when using Audacity, how can you change the quality of the song so it is a much lower size?

There is a setting under...

File >> Preferences >> File Format (tab)

Change the Bit Rate section to 56.

You can then go through the song and delete all the sections you don't want, add a fade in/out, etc. When you're all done, go to...

File >> Export to MP3

The first time you do this, it will ask you to find the lame_enc.dll (make sure you have this installed).

Hope this helps!

It works but the file is still kinda big and when i listen to it on my phone its really quiet and muffled. I know the quality is going to be different than the actual song, but it sounds really bad. How can i make the song louder and make it less fuzzy sounding?

$2.00 still sounds like a rip! Especially when you can buy your very own USB cable off ebay for $0.01 (plus approximately $5.00 shipping) and then you can have ALL the ringtones you could possibly want for free... just make your own!

Here's how.....
