Just recently acquired a 9900 (great phone!!) through Verizon as a NE2 upgrade to my older 9500. I'm now investigating headset and hopefully hands-free options.
In reviewing the 9900 accessory options on VZW's web site a few options-products are of interest. Products I'm targeting are:

- Jabra Earwave; Boom-type, no call ans-end
- Plantronics MX158VSP1; Boom-type, call ans-end
- Plantronics MX350VR; In-line, call ans-end

So two basic questions:

1) Jabra vs. Plantronics?
Any better quality, functionality, lifecycle of one over the other..?

2) Boom vs. In-line?
Any advantages, pointers, issues of one over the other..?

Any feedback/insights are appreciated.

As for the in-line or boom type being the better, the boom mike in general has the better quality speech output.

I have tested them both and the other party has always preferred the sound of the boom mike over the in-line mike, less background noise, clearer, louder, less "in the barrel" sound.

I can usually also tell when someone calls me using an in-line mike. The boom mike I use can not be distinguished from just using the phone, except it is a little louder to the caller. 🙂

Definitely get one with an in-line call button though (very handy while driving)!

Both are good brands. Choose the one that fits you best. You might also want to price around - WalMart and other discount stores carry both brands at a better price than VZW.

I also support jimspobox on the boom microphone vs. the in-line version.

I just picked up the BodyGlove Earglove Pro headset, so far, I love it!

It's quite small, the microphone is in the ear piece and people I'm talking to have no problem hearing me at all.

It also had a Answer/End button in line.

Here's where I got it from:
