hey guys, i was just wondering why the 710 and 7000 are around 200 and this NEW phone which have almost the same functions is only 50 bux???? Why would it be sooo cheap for such a "good phone"? Im assuming that the only reason why its so cheap is because its probably a piece of junk. Who knows? can anyone explain?

(I can not believe the pricing out there for this phone.) This is the truth ! I went to the Corporate store in Hanover Ma. and got two 9900's (One for my wife, one for myself) this morning. With the NE2 credit (two separate acct's) I paid nothing. No Credit card, No check, No Cash, and No rebates to fill out. I guess this is one time that it is worth living in Taxachusetts. Good luck ! By the way I love the phones so far.

The phone is so cheap because it is already discontinued. I got my matrix phone listing from my manager with all of the prices for phones and it stated that phone is while supplies last.

I ALSO WORK FOR VZW AND A VERY CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE (TO BE UN-NAMED)WORK IN THE EQUIPMENT Operations Support TEAM NFORMED ME THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THAT INFO FROM BUT ITS VERY WRONG 👿 THE PHONE HAS JUST CAME OUT AFTER EXTENSIVE TESTING AND IS IN NO WAY ALREADY DISCONTINUED !! ONE OF THE REASONS IT TOOK SO LONG WAS FOR THAT VERY REASON TO MAKE SURE IT WAS WELL PUT TOGETHER AND DID NOT HAVE SOFTWARE PERKS AND IS ONLY THIS PRICE FOR A MONTH AND WILL BE BACK TO THE NORMAL PRICE AFTER THAT TIME !!! So this phone will be around for awhile 😁 😁 😁

As far as my research has gone I have gotten this information...

The price of this phone will go up on the 11th of October. So, the $49.00 (with a 2 year agreement) will be intact until the 11th. After the 11th it will go to the prices that were listed first...$219.00. It's a great phone! I'm looking forward to playing with mine more to get all the ups and downs of it.

The only reason I've gotten for the cheap price is because of the sale they put on it. So, it won't be this cheap for ever! Get it while you can...you always have your 15 days to decide.

Good luck with a decision...hopes this clears the air! 😁

How about this theory: Everyone wants a higher resolution camera, and all the bells and whistles. This one won't do that, because it's chip is outdated. They are stuck with a lot of out-dated phones that they have to blow out at sale price's- maybe?

It's always a possibility? The LG VX-8000 (due out in early 2005) is suspose to have a mega-pixel camara, but I still want this 9900. Maybe this whole camara thing is over empihised? One can always buy a great digital camara and E-Mail the pictures anywhere in the world.

You're right something is fishy...However, I am looking at it from a different angle.

Verizonwireless retail stores here in Tampa are selling all three Audiovoxes (8900, 8910, and 9900) for $50 to the new and NE2 customers. All have (basically) the same features (some better than others) except for video messaging...the 9900. Verizon was well aware that the public would get the best phone at the lowest price, the 9900. The phone, itself, is hardly costing them a dime because they are buying it in mega bulk. They could probably care less about the phone. What they are "banking" on is that with the enhanced features, more memory, and larger screen, people will begin to get hooked on what I call their "premium" features like sending vide...

I hope they do! Great phone, Great introductory price. I believe many people will slow down with the down loads once they have the pictures and tones they want.
