corrupt sound file

☹️ I downloaded and installed several ringtones in my phone using eringers and vzwpix.com, but one of them appears to be corrupt. Whenever I try to select it, my phone locks up and restarts. Any ideas on how to clear that tone out? I've tried saving another one over top of it, but I keep getting the message "file already exists. choose another name".

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Michael

Do you have a data cable?

Not yet. It's on order. I was hoping that I might be able to do it with a cable.

Probably your best shot. VZW may be able to wipe the phone as a last resort.

I had the same experience. The file I downloaded was too big. I had to reduce the ringtone file and then delete the ringtone using the data cable.

To reduce the file, open the audio file with notepad and delete everything in the file then save it. Then you can go back to your phone and will able to delete the audio file

Thanks for the help! I was able to delete the offending file with QPST. Now if I can just figure out how to use the thing as a cellular modem, I'll be all set.

If you purchased the Verizon Data Cable, the software should include the modem program. If you didn't then I don't know what to tell you.
