Hmmm, i am starting to turn on this phone...

I was originally pumped to get this phone, i was excited about the "hands free" and new voice technology and really was looking for a phone that was built good and i really didnt need a camera phone.

Now after reading all the questions and comments i am a bit torn.

First, do you really have to go through those steps to use the voice dialing? It seems you have to go through just as many steps as buttons you would have to press so what is the advantage? I have the LG TM510 and the voice dialing is you hit one button and say the name and it dials.

Second, the speaker can work w/ the clam closed but you almost have to trick it.

I am wondering if i was just excited that verizon actually came out w/ a new phone or if i really...

Can't speak on it working with the clamshell closed, but I just picked up one of these today and you can use the voice features just by pressing the voice button on the side. Not sure why so many people didn't seem to notice that!

After pressing the voice button, you have the various voice commands (contact, digital dial, time) etc. So to call someone you say "Contact" and then, for instance, "Home".

In driving mode, as soon as you open the phone it accepts voice commands.
