It's definitely Rel. 0. We confirmed it with RIM.

It has more memory so that it's upgradeable to the newest BB OS (although I'm not sure when they are going to release it for this phone).

It is also a 3G Blackberry, unlike the 8530, which is just EDGE.

Other than that, it is pretty much the same phone.

The 8530 and 9330 are CDMA versions of the Blackberry Curve (meaning they DON'T RUN ON EDGE)...The 8530 Curve was already 3G capable, it had EVDO Rev. 0 access, and the 9330 Curve 3G has the same EVDO Rev. 0 access. I would have liked to at least see EVDO Rev. A which is a little faster.

For Sprint/Verizon customers, this Curve upgrade did nothing extra to include 3G since every CDMA Blackberry has had 3G (EVDO) for several years now...the GSM ones (Tmobile/AT&T) are the ones that lagged behind 3G Blackberry's.

I'm not really sure why Blackberry calls this one "Curve 3G" on Sprint or Verizon. The only thing different is that it has more memory so it can run OS6...
