Voice dialing

Does anyone know of a good app that will do voice dialing similar to the iPhone or Windows Mobile?

One other thing, has anyone entered a pin number in an address book entry with a pause after the number? If so, does it work when you put the handset up to your face and the screen goes black?

Any idea if Android 2.2 will fix the BT problem and add some hands free capabilities?

Longpress the search button till the voice search option pops up.

Then say 'Call (name), mobile phone" (or home phone) and it will dial.

2.2 adds voice dialing over bluetooth

Please clarify which "search" button you are referring to. When I longpress voice search or any other app for that matter it tries to add or delete that app from the screen.

If you could elaborate I would appreciate it.

Nope, that just brings up a search in Google.

"Call dad, home" you end up in Google with a listing search for "call dad home".

You're telling me that when you hold down the hard button magnifying glass on the phone and the "Speak Now" Google search box comes up you can access your phone book entries and have the phone dial them??

Have they improved the accuracy of the voice dialing on the Incredible? I had the Eris and it was not very accurate. The best voice dialing I have experienced on any phone is with all my BlackBerries.

BlackBerry sure does have excellent voice dialing capabilities. I cannot remember the last time that it did not correctly dial what I had spoken.

you might want to check out Vlingo. It's 9,99 on the marketplace, but you get a 24 hour trial with any android app. It might be better for voice dialing.

Don't know about apps for this function. It takes a minimum of 4 touches to make a call: one way is waken/unlock/[voice-dial widget on home screen]/confirm selection. Alternatively, I have Favorites on the next screen and they allow 1-touch dialing. "Voice Dialing" ALWAYS produces a confirmation screen. If I say, "Call Tiger at home" it gives me a confirmation screen for Tiger's home number, even when it is the only phone book entry and is recited exactly as the written choice reads. This is like the power-off sequence; after you select power-off it asks if you want to power off.

On the pin numbers, I have numbers where I use the Wait key, then a Pause and PIN code and the screen always blanks before I get to the Wait point; pressing ...
