How do I get the date to show?
🙂 Hi it's me again. I notice on my V600 (unlocked)w/(cingular service) that the date shows up under the provider name on different occasions. At times it shows up as
Cingular
GPRS
and at other times it shows up as
Cingular
21-APR-2004
How do I get that date to permanently stay?

It sounds like you need to flash your phone. It will get rid of the GPRS under Cingular indefinitely.
I had an asian version V600 (unlocked/unlogoed) that I bought from Plemix. I had the same problem. So I flashed the phone with the 1DR software and it now is gone. (It drove me nuts.)
