Are you using the stock messaging app or one you downloaded off of the market such as Handcent or ChompSMS?

this is one of the things that i absolutley hate about this crappy phone you virtually have to remember all the numbers for sending multiple txts, why it wouldnt keep the number in its memory is mind boggiling to me and actually sometimes it does work, its a very aggrevating phone,

I have never had any issues sending to multiple contacts. I start typing the name, select it and then repeat. This works with both the stock messaging app AND Handcent. Your obviously doing something wrong and after reading your other posts, I can guarantee it.

You can turn off the alerts from the stock app (or from handcent) so you don't get two alerts.

You are absolutely doing something wrong here. It's a very straight forward process to send a message to more than one recipient. Go to your local VZW store and ask for some help. That's what they're there for!!!!

As for getting multiple notices, heres the step by step:

1. Open stock Messaging

2. Menu, Settings

3. Uncheck "Notifications"

make sure your phone numbers are in your phone as "mobile"... if they are "work" or "home" it will not bring up the number when you type out the contacts name in a text message.

This seems dumb but it helps when you have multiple #'s for a contact and only the mobile one can be texted

Wow I didn't even think of that as a possibility. You should be a detective!

Yo do have to re-click the recipients portion of the message to add more than one contact. After that, the curser stays there until you click the actual message portion.
