I am going to buy the Droid from Best Buy on Friday. I want to know if my $100 NE2 discount will be honored at Best Buy? Can anyone help me with this question?

I laughed so hard because you should have addressed your question to Best Buy reps. How would a direct store rep know for certain? Plus you are thumbing your nose at them. I don't care one way or another buy I wonder why you would not just buy it online? You will get your NE2 and the instant rebate.

And why would we tell you where you can buy the phone cheaper then a Verizon store?

I get credit on what I sell not where I send you

I would buy it from verizon if I could, but some people have to work and don't have time to be first in line at the store at 7am in the morning. I don't feel going to verizon when I get off to find out the store is sold out! I also don't feel like waiting several weeks to get a mail-in rebate. I'm sure you will get plenty of people in your store to by the Driod Then you can get all the credit you deserve from the customers who have the time to be there!

Well Ill say this. The Verizon stores will have a good supply of phones on hand. If you cant make it the 1st day....go the next day.

If you buy it at full retail then you wont have to worry about a rebate becasue they wont give you one.

Its not so much the credit Im worried about, because truth to be told the Droid is on of VZW phones we have with the least amount of data potential (payout wise) because it dosent support any V services. Its pretty much an empty phone that the user customizes (which is cool) but dosent maximize earning potential.

As much as I like the idea of this phone I also realize this wont be the 2nd coming of Christ in a phone or anything. Some people will get it and love it, while others will hate it becasue o...

It is my understanding that Best Buy does not honor NE2 Credits. Now I am not a Best buy Employee so don't quote me on this. It seems as though there are going to be fairly available early on, unlike the storm and voyager. Yes instant rebate is nice but if you want a real VZW sales rep and someone who can tell you the intricacies of your plan and what is best for you I would suck it up and wait the 2 weeks for the mail in rebate vs. going to best buy where who knows what kind of service you are going to get.

I would just buy it online where you WILL receive your NE2 discount, instant rebate AND free overnight shipping. What's the problem?

If you understand the plans, nothing whatsoever.

However, if you purchase a phone online and then go to a store when you have questions, expect a colder reception than someone who actually bought the device in store.

🤣

You are not lying! I would be so mad! It's the same as when someone would buy from one corporate store and then come to mine. Ish happens! That's why corporate reps get paid SALARY plus commission and not just straight commission. Besides most retail stores have Retail Customer Support reps to handle those questions. The sales rep will wave the customer over to the CSR as soon as they realize it is not a sale anyway.

yeah, sadly as an indirect, MOST of my pay comes from commission, so when a customer comes in and they want to waste an hour of my time with a phone they didn't purchase here.. I am less than happy.

The worst part is the corp store near here starts sending local customers to our store after they sign them up for new phones because were are there for "local customer service."

That is messed up! Do they have CSRs in store? There is no excuse for sending customers to an indirect when you are a full service location.

1st of all, I have been a Verizon customer since before it was Verizon! I am pretty disappointed at some of the responses I am getting from Verizon employees! For someone to say I am going to get a cold shoulder when I walk into a store because I chose to buy the phone from an authorized Verizon dealer is just wrong! I understand Verizon employees get commission on their sales and I have brought plenty of phones from Verizon stores. This particular phone I am not willing to wait for in the mail and I don't have the money to wait for a mail in rebate that takes several weeks to get here. So I would hope this is only to views of a few bad apples and I will get the respect I deserve when I walk into a Verizon store! I spoke to customer serv...

How would customer service know what a retailer does?

You buy a phone from best buy, you go to best buy when you have customers.

A rep doesn't care how long you've been a customer because a rep makes very little money if they don't sell devices (and they risk their jobs by not hitting quotas)

Reps will still help you, but it is horribly rude of you to demand someone's time (keeping them from sales) and not purchase the device from them.

Menno, see that's what you don't understand. I never went into a verizon store to ask questions about this phone. I have done a tone of reasearch and have read review after review online. I don't plan on bothering any verizon sale employees in the wireless stores. If I have any problems I will contact customer service. The only question I did ask is on this site which is voluntary for sales people to answer.

Then my post wasn't directed to you. I was talking with Azeron about customers who go to stores and have the reps go over the phones and then order them online.

For future reference this is really something that should be asked to the place you plan on getting the phone from (so in this case Best Buy).
This also is not something that a VZW employee would likely know the answer to, as how indirect agents work is a little confusing since not all agent locations can do the same things (such as offer your NE2 credit)
In customer service we used to have a chart that told us why type of agents could do what, but I dont know if it is still something available and if it is no idea where it woul...
