Read the same thing on crackberry.com and blackberryos.com

Maybe by then Verizon will actually release an official update for "Storm 1," but by then, our Storms will be tropical depressions and it won't really matter 😛

I've said many times on this forum that by the time they come out with an official update, NO ONE will have (or want this phone)! I guess it was prophetic. I've downloaded close to 40 3rd party apps. What a waste of time.... 😡

Hawk, I've invested too much time with this phone to abandon it. I'm sure the update will fix a lot of glitches. If the only difference is WiFi, they'll probably incorporate a repaired OS which will emulate my current original Storm of the future, Updated! Therefore, my 3rd party Apps will continue to provide quality time and some fun, here and there.

I do enjoy the phone, and really get a kick out of all the views and angles on this forum.

Keep up the good work and keep those quality threads flowing. It takes the pain away from my occasional "crash," lockup, and the totally illogical performance of this "device of intrigue, complexity, and candidate for a heave into the wall." 🤣

Got an idea for app world now...Rig the accelerometer to make an explosion sound as it hits an immovable object...such as a wall.

We could sell millions of them 🤣

When the screen splatters all over the room, will the landscape mode still work in the kitchen and the bathroom? At the same time? A Storm exclusive? One thing for sure, the keyboard will then be spaced wide enough for typing without a hundred backspace corrections! 😁

I read the same thing. I guess when you think about it, most phones are replaced or updated every year or so and usually no more than 2 years goes by without a replacement.

Crackberry is doubting that we will see the phone until 2010 anyway.

Also, few Blackberries are left to rot after they are updated. OS's are always continually updated.

yeah, from what i have seen in the industry is unlike the standard phones, the pdas usually go a 1 to 1 1/2 years for a new release. the cost of research and development of pdas are far more expensive then the dummy phones that they just re-package and sell as a different sku. for example, pearl it had several revisions till the *NEW* pearl flip came out. and the pearl has been out for years. The curve has been around on all the networks and now they are just coming out with a new curve.. that just blackberry, i before i had a storm had winmo htc 6700, 6800, 6900 and those were 1-2 years between. So dont fret there is a new storm coming just wont be slated till next year.. vzw is getting the new flip pearl and the new curve and possible ...

I would have jumped on that one if it came out the same time the Storm did last year. My prior phone was a Palm Treo which would have been an easier transition

it is in the works.... make you feel bad hawk is that they were talking about that phone since the storm. just not publicly. at the beginning of the year they show us (reps) the time-line of the phones coming out for the year and unfortunately we have to be tight lipped about it until they start advertising.
