I have had a motorola 500 bluetooth headset and have used it with several phones. Will this work with the STORM? Additionally, will the STORM work with the bluetooth in my LEXUS gx?

It 99% most likely should.
Provided the car is pretty new.
and the firmware version of your cars bluetooth module is also fairly up to date.

THe bluetooth spec is pretty standard across the board, but sometimes carriers like to modify the bluetooth protocol and thus render a BT capable phone unusable with various devices.
Most likely pair the car to the phone, as if the car is just antoher BT headset.
Sometimes and some phones, its the other way around, you make the phone discoverable and set the car to look for the phone. One of the two will work.

I had the same question regarding my wife's 2007 BMW X5 with the integrated bluetooth option. BMW "maintains" a web page that lists the "BMW approved" phones. The Storm IS NOT on the list. I called the local BMW dealer and they stated that if it's not on the list, it "probably" won't work. Thanks BMW!! So, I took my wife's X5 to the local Verizon, and one of the employees who owns a Storm, was kind enough to let me take their unit into the parking lot and try it. Well, what a surprise!! It paired perfectly and all of the integrated functions worked just fine. So, the moral of the story is, don't believe what is on the internet, or what the dealer says, take a trip to your local Verizon and try it, you might like it. Hope this helps....

Rule of thumb on bluetooth units is that the introduction of new phones far outpaces the manufacturers ability to keep up with their lists of what will pair with them.

That being said, chances are if you can find any recent Blackberry on the list that the Storm will probably work too.
Basic features usually pair up fine, it may be the minor things like uploading phone lists or voice activated dialing that could vary from different phones that could give you the trouble.

I have two devices (an ancient plantronics headset and a Scoshe Bluefusion car kit) paired and they work flawlessly 😁

i have a storm and i can connect my blueant v1 and this altec landsing 'sound blade' bt speaker AT THE SAME TIME the music plays through the speakers and then a call comes in on the headset, although no voice and music simultaneously.

thought it was pretty cool.

just about any bluetooth should work with any phone. also, like my blueant and many others, some headsets can only have been paired to 3 or 4 devices then they get full, and must be reset. i dont think moto does this, but i dont know.

just my info 🙂

BMW seems to be all about Motorolas for some reason. When I took delivery of my 2008 335i, the salesguy was like "Oh, I don't know if your phone will pair since its not a Moto." At the time I had a Samsung Alias. While he was sitting right there in the car with me, I went through the pairing screens/commands and VOILA! the phone paired without a problem. Subsequently, when I got my Storm in Nov, it also paired without a problem. I do believe there is a correlation to how recent the Bluetooth "profile" or whatever is in your vehicle or something along those lines.

As far as a bluetooth headset is concerned, I use the Moto H690/695. Got a steal of a deal for 2 of 'em during the holidays.

Basically, even if not listed most phones will pair with cars that have onboard bluetooth.
Doing the whole transfer contacts to the car bit is not the best route anyway.
The simplest quickest best way to do it in my opinion is to use your car as a giant bluetooth speakerphone, nothing more.
Otherwise you have to manage contacts on your phone AND on your car. The voice command from your phone is just fine. Just hit the button on your steering wheel, and when you hear,
"Say a command" just say "call home" and its done.
That is a basic level of pairing almost all these phones do with all the cars that have Bluetooth.
Once you get into transferring 100 plus contacts into the cars phonebook it gets a little retarted if you ask me.
Your ph...

I'm not sure I understand how your bluetooth in your vehicle works OR maybe I don't know how mine works! LOL! Yes, the phone definitely needs to be in the car in order for bluetooth to even work, I'm clear on that. When I paired my phone, my contacts automatically transferred over to the car and actually sync up every time I get back in the car so there's no need for me to manage contacts in 2 places; whatever is on my Storm will be automatically mirrored in the car (but not vice versa since I can add contacts directly to the directory in the car). I'm not sure if all vehicles work that way but seemingly, they should have that option.

As far as the voice commands are concerned, I was under the impression the voice command associated with ...
