As always, this is a leaked OS and not official. Download and install only if you are comfortable doing so.

Camera is said to be "worthless" in this version but other well known bugs have been said to have been worked out.

Ok, I have it downloaded and have been playing with it for a few hours. In summary, thihs is one sweet build! Everything is faster and the suretype keyboard is nice to use even more now...fonts are bigger. The browser is very fast...assuming you have it configured right. This build just may bring the reviews over 4. Thats only if the naysayers are pissed and come out in force and swamp the threads with silly negative reviews.

Application icon changed?
Qwerty keyboard in portrait mode? cool!
A camera bug is there. It takes pictures but only randomly saves them and it can freeze and reset (just did on me as I am writing this)
The media card inserted error and Verizon splash screen are not showing up yet which is what others are reporting so far.
I doubt this will be a VZW official release because of the camera bug, but this is a major step in the right direction!
I can live without a perfect camera until the next release if they have solved other issues đ

The full QWERTY style keyboard can now be used in Portrait of Landscape mode alrough the keys are soooo tiny đ¤Ŗ

yes now in portrait mode you can choose from multitap, suretype (reduced keyboard), or full keyboard which is good after a day or two of practice

i have been using .90 for about an hour, and love it. overall its a lot faster. initially the camera wouldnt save pics, and then the screen froze black an the phone wouldnt do anything, i pulled the battery (first and only pull) and the camera works fine, and no memory card or vzw screens. also the qwerty in portrait mode is a nice addition, although imho, the iphone portrait qwerty is nicer(though i like the storms landscape qwerty the best).
the accelerometer is way sensative, and very fast. again, its only been an hour or so, but overall im very happy i got rid of .86.
let us know your opinions and thoughts.

Some people are reporting that the camera works better if you change the zoom from 1 to anything greater than 1.1 and turning image stablization off might help too

see the camera works fine now, it was just not working untill i did a battery pull, which most people say to do one after updating the software anyway. so thats all it took.

This work for anyone else? I kinda really like the camera and i'm not going to get it without the camera. Are you guys able to do MMS messaging on this phone? I have the Telus Version (in canada) and we can't send MMS messages. Wondering if i get this US update that it will active the MMS.

yes the 9530 storm for vzw has mms. and i was playing with the camera and it works fine, after the battery pull things are all good đ if your in canada, i would look into the storm 9520, its supposed to have wifi!

I already have the 9530. Our offical version is .76 though. Works ok but still slow. I just would really like to activate the MMS

ok its been a slow day at the store, so i have been reading the crackberry forums.
when you go into your message inbox, highlight a name and wait, a blue bar will appear and it will search for whoever you highlighted. this is a lot better then menu, options, search, type name, menu, search.
anyone else know any other cool things about the storm?

Suretype is still there. You just get the option now with qwerty keyboard in landscape. .90 seems to respond better in every way except for the camera and video camera. I get freezing and can't enter the camera mode sometimes. Otherwise its a good build

I agree...ver .90 is the best yet in my opinion, though I've still experienced some minor annoyances. As far as the camera/video camera go though, neither have worked well since the Storm launched. Hopefully Verizon and Blackberry will have a very good release very soon to make all our troubles go away!

HawkeyeOC: Why after doing update do I not get the normal suretype keyboard in portiat mode instead I get the keyboard that looks like a regular cellphone? Is there a way to fix it. I also get the same keyboard in browswer but not in email/SMS????

My issue is when I try to type something in the browswer address bar it only gives me the multi tap option but when I use the search field it gives me the suretype keyboard. Any suggestion on how to fix it?

1. The message indicator is only at the top of the screen not above the icon anymore
2. Phone constantly does not go dark. I have to either put in holster or pull battery.
3. In browser web address bar only gives multi tap as option in portiat mode.
Any suggestions on to fix these items would be greatly appreciated.

2. Fonts are sharper
3. Sound quality acutally sounds slightly better.
