How are people giving this phone 4 and 5 star rating?????
Is this forum full of fanboys or what? Are people trying to be deliberately misleading? Are they brainwashed?
Even if new software was right around the corner, which it now appears it isn't, why would we find it acceptable? Would you buy a new car that stalled on you ever three miles and say "It is okay. I hear they are going to be fixing this problem sometime in the future"???

I had my Storm since Monday and haven't really had any problems. No freezing that requires the battery to be pulled, email works fine, web browsing is good...even the lag (that can hopefully get fixed soon) isn't a deal breaker for me. I like this phone a lot better than my Pearl. The Pearl is notorious for deleting call logs, emails and requiring regular power cycling with the battery pull.
All I can come up with is that those complaining expected perfection out of this phone, and when they didn't get it, they were mad.
I gave it a 4.5 in my review because I honestly like it that much. I'm just personally not having any big issues with the phone.

So you gave it a 4.5 star rating based on the fact that you are hoping it might someday work properly? What a backwards way of thinking.
As far as asking for perfection, that is crap. People did not ask for perfection. They asked for it to work properly. It simply does not. That is not asking too much.

I have yet to rate this phone due to all the flaws because verizon has never failed me. It seem to work better after a few adjustments and 10 phone calls. I learned alot on crackberry.com. I am tired of people sizing this phone up to the iphone this is a verizon phone if you want an iphone go to att but all in all no one beats verizon coverage,phone repairs[swap out] and customer service. Just like any other carrier sometimes you need to call several times to get the right person . There is a phone out there for everyone!

Yes, I can read...and I read that you qualified "no freezing" with "that requires the battery to be pulled."

The biggest compliment you could give it was it was better than another phone that had serious issues. Does that rate a 4.5? I do not think so.
You also made the lame statement that people were wanting perfection. People are not complaining because the phone is not "perfect." They are complaining because it freezes up, it has poor video quality, it lags and drags on the simplest tasks, it is hard to type on, etc.

I'm not sure why you're trying so hard to pick a fight with me, but so as to avoid all possible misunderstandings, let me be perfectly clear for you PP...
The ONLY problem I have with the Storm is some minor lag. Everything else has been awesome!

Seriously, aside from the minor lag, what's wrong with the phone? Sound/video quality is amazing for a phone, HTML email & web browsing work great and the call quality seems to be equal to or better than my Pearl was (and my Pearl did just fine there).
The 'click' screen technology along with the SureType keypad has been a cinch coming from a Pearl. Battery life...even using my Bluetooth...gets me through the day with no problems. The included 8gb card was a very nice upgrade from the 4gb card I ha...
