Can i buy this phone at full price, find a way to unlock it, and use it on ATT at all?

Wouldn't make much sense at all for the 9530. You would be happier with an AT&T phone if you have to have their network such as the BB Bold or an iphone.
Unlocked, it should work with AT&T but you would not have 3G network speeds and any support for the Storm on their network.

Very true, you will get some support, like help with apn settings and such, but after that, you're correct. The Storm is a sweet phone, but so is the Bold, two excellent products. In fact, after all the hype and ado, it might come down to a preference in what one wants or needs to do. 2. The storm is a vzw exclusive, I'm sure you know what that means
Basically, drop your deadbeat carrier and switch to vzw.

The storm is a quadband phone and supports the att bands.
I just called vzw and they gave me an unlock code poped in my sim an vwalla but its only on edge as it doesnt support att 3g or even have wifi
