Not a deal breaker for me. The lack of wifi on this phone is simply because they can't fit any more radios into it.

Adding wifi would probably mean losing the world phone frequencies.

Verizon did not disable or remove wifi for the record 😁

WIFI wouldn't be a deal breaker for me either, all though it is a disappointment, btw RIM didn't put WIFI on the 9500 which is sold by Vodafone. Which I think is more or less the same, sans cdma radio.

This phone REQUIRES at least a 29.99 Data feature added onto your Calling plan package. You have to have it and it can never be taken off. That gives you UNLIMITED internet and Email on Verizons gigantic 3G area.

YOU DONT NEED WIFI. Sorry, you cant have the phone and not pay for the data package. WiFi sucks!! Why do people care about it? The more people using that Wifi spot, the SLOWER it gets. Hard to find free spots... worthless. Its not dependable.

And true. They couldnt fit the wifi receiver with the GSM portion for global use.

Wifi does not suck. I agree that it probably shouldn't be a deal breaker on a device with such good 3G coverage, but to say that wifi sucks just to prove a point... 🙄

Wifi is fast and dependable. The only real negative that you could argue is the battery drain, but most people take that into account during usage. Again, I agree with your assessment that it's not a deal breaker for this device, but that's like saying that ice cream suck just because you don't have any for your cake. If the Storm had wifi, I don't think anyone would be complaining about it being there.

r u really being that stupid right now?

like for real?

What is everyone saying?

VERZION HAS NO CHOICE IN THE WiFi!

IT would not fit in the phone.

Be happy you have the largest 3G network with this.

What if Verizons 3G was like AT&Ts?

Then no one would prob get it because of how slow the internet would be sense AT&Ts 3G doesnt even cover half of Verizons 3G.

I have to be honest, I thought I would need wifi, but I borrowed an EnV2 from work to make a business trip to Tallahassee Florida (4 1/2 hour trip, 5 day stay), the hotel had wifi for my laptop, but I used the stores EnV2 for a lot of email, and the speed was CONSISTENT and fast(unlike AT&T 3G), same story with where I live.

Honestly, with Verizon backing it up, I don't think it will even need wifi.

This phone has enough radios to give an elephant cancer. Who needs wifi in their phone when this baby works virtually everywhere?

I would have said "no" up until these past few weeks. I wound up with an iPhone for my business line (I resisted the iPhone for as long as I could) and I have come to love the WiFi service. It is so much faster than even the strongest 3G speeds. I was amazed at how often it is available too. it is in coffee shops, books stores, airports, etc.

I agree that for MOST people, wifi should not be a deal breaker, but if you are working somewhere like a hospital that usually has a weak cell signal then EVDO does little good. I depend on wifi, as the signal is poor enough that I am whelmed the moment I walk out the door by all the backed up text messages I should have received throughout the day.

That is True Palmer...one of the rare benefits of WiFi.

For the rest of you with a At&T phone. OF COURSE WiFI is better than At&T's EDGE and 3G data speeds 🤣 !!

Not anymore, most hospitals done away with that. Atleast where I work.

Absolutely a deal breaker.

There are plenty places that Verizon does not have service that I use Skype or just internet for e-mail and such. Oh well.
