Ending Apps and powersave

I've noticed that many of my applications stay open after I "x" out of them. Anyone know how to close them down so they don't waste the battery. Currently I shut them down by going in to the task manager but I'm sure there is an easier way.

Also, any tips to save the battery life? I shut off the wifi and bluetooth but still only get a half a day out of the battery. Any tips?

Thanks.

You have to close the apps manually by going to the task manager. I made that one of the files available on the start menu.

There is a third party app by SPB that will actually close the files when you X them, but I was not that thrilled by the software because I could not customize where on the screen the icons appeared and it made my background pic look bad.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a link to this SPB app? Or the name so I can google it. Is it free?

i found a little shortcut on the main screen. If you swipe your finger upwards in between the phone and main menu buttons than it automatically pulls up a little box that shows you everything that is running in the background. Then you can end all tasks right from there! No need to go through the menu anymore!

Yes that function works as well, but I find I end up moving widgets around half the time when I do that.

So what I did was reassign my side buttons to functions I prefer the most.

The top right (windows button) does the following now:
Press once and it finctions as of the current item.
Press and hold, it launches all running tasks, so I can then select "end all tasks".

The bottom right button (camera button):
Press once and it rotates the screen manually (I hated the auto rotate so I rotate it by pressing the button when desired)
Press and hold, launches the camera as originally set.
