You may have to do a hard re-set. Read through a few of the other post. it's been explained.

SYSTEM
POWER
HIT THE BOTTOM RIGHT BUTTON UNTIL YOU SEE WIFI
CLICK ON WIFI

Thank you, that worked. I had not idea that turned it off, it just says energy saver for wifi, not no energy at all!
Thx,

Now it isn't working again. This time, the power setting seems ok. Bluetooth will turn on, and the phone will turn off and on, but WiFi does nothing. The little circle just spins, then nothing. I have tried setting it to Work and to Internet, it does not work with either setting. Any other suggestions?

The Wi-Fi selection should enable no matter if you can connect to the Internet or not.
If you have tried what Mike says in this thread (I checked his instructions and it is valid and works) and Wi-Fi still will not Enable, you may want to consider doing a Reset of the Omnia. A little hole next to the Power Button which you can use the Stylus with. The book says you will not loose any settings like you will if you do a Hard Reset.
From the Samsung Web Site...
"1. Reset Button: Resets your phone and ends all applications
currently running."
That may help.

WiFi came back. I went to the power page and turned the power save on and back off. But, I think it depends where in my house I am sitting. It worked on one side of the room, but not the other.

It has to be the power button. This morning, when I turned the phone on, the WiFi was still on because I left it that way when I turned the phone off last night. However, nothing would disconnect the WiFi, I could not turn it off. I went to all of the connectivity settings that I could find to turn it off, and I even reset the phone...to no avail. The one thing that finally worked was to set the power saving feature off, then on. After that I was able to turn WiFi off. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there something wrong with my phone?

Joey...I have had no WiFi problems with my Omnia. But this is only the 3rd day. WiFi turns On/Off as wanted. Works find. I connect with my home Netgear Router okay. I was at a local Hardee's this morning and I could have connected there as well.
If I had your phone with those bugs, I would request a replacement. Are you within your 30 days?

either you have a bad phone, or the... nah you probably have a bad phone.

try this

leave the phone powered on, and pull the battery. with the battery out, push and hold the power button for 15-17 seconds.

(this is a "hard" reset on a basic cell phone (lg dare), sort of like holding the power button on a pc. it wont erase anything, but i think does a lil more then pushing the power button). let us know what happens, if this doesnt work, vzw will ask for a true "hard reset", then replace it for free (the hard reset is for outside of 30 days, so you might not need to do that)

I talked to Samsung support. They said there is a problem with the phones software and that I should return it to Verizon.

Hi Joey,

I've had my Omnia since Monday and it is doing the same thing as yours. First I couldn't turn WI FI on, so I searched this forum and unchecked the WI FI power save feature. Then I couldn't turn WI FI off. I tried a soft and Hard reset, but they didn't work. Then I checked and unchecked the power save feature, and now the WI FI option has disappeared from my connection screen. There is only bluetooth and phone displayed. All in all, I think it is a bug, but I'm going to take my phone back since I'm within the 30 days.

Well, at least it's not just me 🙂 I took my back this morning and got a replacement. This was the instruction from Samsung. The same thing happened with the phone at Verizon. I wonder if some fix is needed from Samsung?

Thanks for the update Joey,

I'm going to take my phone back tonight. Please let me know if your new phone has the same issue, and I'll do the same.
