How do you insert "wait" in phone number in order to program voicemail, phone cards, etc.?

with visual voicemail i dont think you need your password. i had a problem setting mine up. i had to call my number then hit * to set it up. i entered the password twice to confirm it but that was it. with the iphone all u have to do is tap the voicemail icon and it will show you what you have.

Hi. I don't have an iPhone, but a Verizon Decoy, but with Verizon say you want to automate your voice-mail call you enter *86PP(PIN #). The 2 Ps are 2 second pauses. Surprisingly enough, Verizon included the instructions on how to do this in their little book of really tiny type. With my previous phone I think I learned it reading here. I'm sorry if this isn't helpful for your iPhone, tho.

Try either a "p" (pause) or a "h" (hard pause) or maybe a * or #. Usually those are the common ones. Then again, I am not sure how the Apple OS has it setup.
Also, you really dont want to automate your pin numbers for two reasons.
1) If you ever lost your phone, you have exposed your pin
2) If for some reason your call takes longer connect (longer call setup times because of roaming, network congestion or network issues), the phone will send the DTMF tones for your pin, but the network (or VM platform) is wont be listening so you will have to manually enter them in again, or the call will fail.
