what do you want me to say? if you own a blackberry then you know it will be reliable just like what you have except this one has an incredible screen! and a totally new OS. blackberry did a great job! everyone be patient...your time will come!

As for the operating system, you can get it from other providers if you pull the vendor files out of the software. I have yet to find it for the 8800 or 8820, but I've successfully installed it on a Curve. I think I got it from Vodaphone, but it's hard saying.
