each BB has a pin. You can send pin messages to other BB users as long as you have their pin.
Its typically a combo of letters and numbers.
you can locate your pin my going to options-->status
you can also type in "mypin" then hit the space bar and your pin will magically appear.

You have to go to compose email then go into the message portion and type it in there. If that doesn't work then there is a problem with your blackberry connection.

some people use their emails that they have set up on their phones and other's use their PIN
