Does anyone know if there is a setting in the phone that will disable the phones ability to log on to the internet?

A friend has a son that has the Dare and he has a plan to pay by MB. He accidentally pressed the wrong keys, realized his mistake and canceled as quick as possible. He used .1 MB ----- that's correct ----- .1 MB and was charged $1.99 !!!

There is no setting on the phone but Verizon can remove the feature from the account and block access.

any usage is rounded up to the nearest MB so if someone just uses it for .01 the VZ will charge the whole MB= 1.99. No setting on the phone, only way is calling it in...

This will also break Picture Messaging, as the only way to block the web blocks ALL data.

This is not true. I called to block the internet only and I still can send pictures, videos and any media file.

scorpio is correct, adding the web block does not block pictures messages. I still seem to get the stupid 1.99 charge every now and again though. Since I got the Dare, I also tried a new trick to try to stop this from happening. When you enter the menu, you can touch and drag the icons. I moved all of the icons that access the internet (browser, navigator, and VCast) down to the very lower right corner (under the reset button). That way, they shouldn't accidentially get pressed, but if I need them, just press the reset button and back they come.
