Bluetooth music file transfer
hi all. I have been trying for a while to get music files to transfer to my DARE, but I cannot get it to work. It says that it supports file transfer, so I must assume it is something I am doing wrong. If anyone has done this, please let me know what I am missing.
Thanks,
Chris

I can get it to receive a mp3 through bluetooth but it's worthless that way because the phone won't let you use it as a ringtone. I think you can go to my sounds and it'll be in there that you can listen to it but you can't apply it as a ringtone. The only good way so far I've been able to put ringtones on my phone is using bitpim. Google it and you'll find some good info on it. There's also a thread here that you'll see people discussing about it.

Im just trying to transfer songs to the phone, not ringtones. When I do get them to transfer, they go into my "Sounds"folder, not music...even when I copy them to the card. When I try to send them to myself, they are too big.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Chris

Here's what I did:
1. Pair the computer and the phone.
2. Do discover available services to find OBEX File Trasfer.
3. Double-click on OBEX File Transfer to see 8 folders: MyMusic, MyPictures, MySounds, MyVideos, SdMusic, SdPictures, SdSounds, SdVideos. The first 4 folders are the ones in the Dare built-in memory while the latter 4 are in the microSD card.
4. Copy the MP3 files that you want into either the MyMusic or SdMusic folder.
5. I can see the songs on my phone.
Good luck...
