I CAN COPY OR GE MY RINGTONES FROM THE ENV2 OVER TO HE DARE
WITHOUT USING THE DARE TO RECORD THE RINGTONE AS A SOUND (AS THAT WILL PROBABLY CONTRIBUTE TO LOSS OF CLARITY)

copy them to a MicroSD card from the EnV2... MySounds folder... put the card into the Dare and send each sound as a pix message to yourself and save as ringtone.

Built-in ringtone? You mean factory ringtones? You will not be able to copy those over to a new phone. At least there is no way that I'm aware of aside from playing the ringtone on the old phone while recording it as a new sound on the new phone. 🙂
If your old phone is supported by BitPim, you might be able to find the ringtone you want in there and copy it. Then convert it to MP3 and put it in your new phone. You would have to play around with that though as I'm not sure it will work.
