Dare vs. iphone

I’m torn between the iphone and the Dare. I’m leaning toward the iphone, but I would like your input. By the way, the things listed here are just what is important to me.

Camera:
Dare

MMS:
Dare

Screen Size/Display:
Iphone

Media Player:
Iphone

Touch Screen:
Iphone

Browser:
Iphone; I am of the opinion that a 3g/wifi safari beats out a rev-A HTML Dare. Ease of use, multiple web pages and multi touch is a bug plus.

Battery Life:
Jury is still out, but according to phonescoop the iphone has an edge, we’ll wait and see what real life battery life is like though.

Third Party Apps:
Iphone. GINVerizon mobile email

So what do you guys think? Any glaring omissions? Disagreements? Whatever?...

iPhone wins. Still prefer the Instinct because of Sprint TV and their Rev A. All 3 are nice though.

Couple of points. Hope they help.

1.The iphones web browser is the only advantage and I don't view itunes as an advantage because its more difficult to play stolen music.

2.The dare is awesome and I'm very picky about my toys. The web browser on the dare is the only real con. That said, it gets the job done. What do you really check on a hand held device anyway? But admittedly porn is awesome on the iphone.

3.If you're on the east coast then the choice of Verizon over ATT is a not even close.

4.I view the ability to send pic messages and take video as a real advantages that the Dare has. In addition, the ability to make and receive phone calls is also nice.

5.I'm not an apple hater as I have the touch and other mac pr...

I agree with the original post 100%. I too am torn between these too. Verizon's superior network is making me consider the Dare though. Its a very tough call. I'm ever so slightly leaning towards the iPhone only because I value a great Web experience and superior screen, and I might take my chance with the AT&T 3G network. BUT, i still have a couple weeks till I'm forced to make a decision. Either way, i think both are great phones that have a lot to offer that the other doesn't.

And don't forget to consider whether or not you need a business device as well with the Dare is not.

On thing you guys forget is that the iPhone actually has a real 3D graphics chip in it that is superior to that of the PSP and Nintendo DS. You can play those crappy BREW games on the toy phones with Verizon but if you want a real portable gaming platform on a device with the power to play them, go with the iPhone.

How about Sling Player for the Dare? Nope. Face it. You can carry another crappy iClone or you can go with the iPhone and have a pocket size tablet computer.

Yeah I herd Slingbox was coming to the iphone, but the two companies had to hammer out some details. Any word on it? Definetly Slingbox > VZ Mobile TV

Slingbox is currently in beta on the iPhone. There was a rumor that AT&T was going to try and kill it so it didn't hammer their data network but I don't really believe that for a second. They pump out plenty of Smartphones, like the Tilt and Moto Q that have 3G and are Slingbox compatible. Plus, most people are going to try and use SlingBox on wifi as much as they can for better performance.

SlingBox for the iPhone is real. It's coming. And it's going to be a whole new experience on that beauty of a screen on the iPhone.

Try that on the LG. I DARE you! 🤣

With iPhone 3G, you are being charged data rates like any other PDA, $30.00 per month.

DARE is not considered a PDA, so you can get your internet for $15.00 per month. Over a year, that is a savings of $180.00!!!!

And it may be the deciding factor if I keep the DARE. I keep telling myself, this is not a PDA, this is not your BB Curve.

Man I couldn't agree more. I currently have the Voyager and $15/month unlimited data is so awesome. That $30 bones/month is gonna hurt...just hope its worth it.
