Got it today..

May 1, 2008, 3:38 PM
Well i got it today and i must say from going from the iphone to the VU big difference. The web Browser on the vu is nothing compared to the one on the iphone, there is no gps, no Google maps, on the plus side the phone is loud compared to the iphone. The speaker phone rocks. I didnt get to try out media Flo yet because its not on yet. All in all its a good phone real light, and the touch is great too. Its so nice to be able to send pictures and videos again. In my its a good phone if you don't like the iphone or want something smaller then the iphone, but I'm sure i will bring mine back and wait for the 3g iphone next month.

There might not be FLO service in your area. The FLO service runs on a 750ish MHz frequency thats only available in certain markets

As for there being a lack of Google Maps, that is an easy enough OTA download from Google (http://www.google.com/gmm)

I agree that the web browser on the Vu is severely lacking compared to the Safari browser from the iPhone; however, you can always install Opera Mini, which would relegate the built in browser to CV functionality and MEdia Net homepage duty only.

Hi ceric20
I went to the AT&T Store on Saturday with the intention of purchasing the VU and left thinking about the Iphone.
I think the Vu looks cheap, TV will not be available until August for most cities, i just was not feeling it.
I need an honest opinion about the Iphone also tell me what you know about the 3g Iphone.

Hey Moto...I havent physically seen the VU yet but been anticipating it for almost a year now. I been able to upgrade for 6 mo's and I can't wait...just want the right phone. The vu looks good (online) just not feeling the price and also don't like that it lacks flash. I am now waiting for the 3G Iphone. All I knoew about it is that they plan to sell it for around $199...imagine that! Keep looking!
