Software Upgrade over the Air

Why doesn't Verizon offer a software upgrade for The Voyager to let it do Over the Air Software Upgrades like the LG Dare allows you to do.

It does. I've updated both vznavigator and mail when updates came out, for example. Don't confuse software updates with firmware updates. The voyager firmware revisions need to be burned at a factory store.

Don't expect voyager (or any other phone) to have new features retrofitted. It's cheaper for LG just to bring out a new phone. Voyager's prime time is now past. Onward to newer phones, if you want newer bells and whistles.

Speaking of updates, Is the VZ Navigator with real time traffic updates a fee service? I mean do you have to subscribe and pay a monthly fee for the use of that or is it a free upgrade and works within my already established plan? I saw it listed one day when I was trying to see if anything new was available for the phone but I didnt get it yet.

It's free with an unlimited data plan, otherwise, it can be rented on a daily or monthly as needed basis.
