My Voyager connects using EVDO. 1st rep didn't know anything about it, 2nd said that they hope to have it up in a year, funny how they can advertise "Take advantage of our 3G network with the voyager" when it's not even up and running yet. must be to try and keep up with the iphone3g.
EVDO _IS_ 3G. Sheesh.

Further, while EVDO and HSUPA are commonly referred to as “3G†mobile networks, some classes of EDGE can also fit that description, according to Wikipedia. It states:
"EDGE can carry data speeds up to 236.8 kbit/s for 4 timeslots (theoretical maximum is 473.6 kbit/s for 8 timeslots) in packet mode and will therefore meet the International Telecommunications Union's requirement for a 3G network, and has been accepted by the ITU as part of the IMT-2000 family of 3G standards. It also enhances the circuit data mode called HSCSD, increasing the data rate of this service."

as far as the price drop, it's not to hard to figure, when the first one came out I said that looks cool as hell but there's now way that I was paying 500 bucks for one, now they use a smoke screen to add the extra to the data package. that is pretty smart really you have to give it to them. the average Joe won't do the math or it won't matter it's small amount spread over time.
no stereo blue tooth, is pretty lame but like some one else said Iphone 3 will have and they will bring in that many more people.
no matter h...

In my area VZ has never referred to their network as being 3G till now. Thanks to a very informative individual I now know that VZ had 3G all a long, hell they even built it. Someone should tell their associates that.
Here's a link to an article from January, 2004 talking about Verizon's 3g evdo network.
