WHen typing a TXT message, anyone notice that when pressing "@" you get "." ? Software issue?

Actually also happens when entering the name of a new contact...press "@" and you get "." Help!

Works fine on mine from the qwerty keyboard. Didn't try from the external. Are you using the symbol key? I guess you must be.

Using external screen, the pop-up keyboard when you start to enter the text of TXT Message or when enter the name of a new contact....the popup keyboard displays @ but when pressed, . comes up

Actually the @ symbol key refers for ALL sybols and the first symbol that is supposed to pop up is the perid for texting. Don't worry, your Voyager is fine. You can use the Next key to help scroll through different symbols fo course but that is what happens on my enV as well and I've got an @ symbol for my button.

Perhaps I figured it out...if you press the "@" mutiple times, differet symbols become available (you just need to scroll through them my hitting the @ again and again"

See, now Verizon is so quick to tell me to get a new phone...and my is perfect and almost took a chance and got a rotten one. These reps really need to be trained, educated or fired.

I had this same problem with my enV. If I remember correctly, I had T9 set as my default text entry when composing text messages so that I wouldn't have to set it as T9 every time I started a text. Having this set as default can cause problems. It will remember things that you have typed either on the inside keyboard or the outside. That's how it was on my enV though. So, what I had to do was get a new phone (because it wasn't letting me use any symbols keys on the inside keyboard. it was bringing up stuff other than the symbols I wanted) and then keep the default as abc on the outside keyboard. You just have to change from abc to T9 each time you do a text message on the outside screen.

what u have to do is press the @ symbol a couple of times...no offense but u guys should consider texting a bit more before complaining..this is regular..even with my old phones...yes..phoneS..try this, on the texting screen hit the @ symbol a couple of times and then eventually it will restart back the the "." symbol.. now, if you are using T9 or Word to text, hit the "@" key a couple of times, this time it should show "." followed by happy or sad faces..what u want to do is press the "next" key on the period and it will show the other symbols.. pressing the "next" key on the happy faces will also show different faces..hopefully this helps
