Wireless Sync

Can anyone help me with this...I have called customer service a bunch of times and every time I get a different answer. I am wondering if the voyager will allow wireless sync and if not can you download it through the "get it now" programs? I currently have a Treo 750p and find that being able to hotsync is a necessity. I realize this is not a PDA so I don't need reminding there, I just want to know if this phone is capable of syncing your phonebook calendar and memos primarily. The more info the better. Thanks to all those that could help in this area.

Yes you can download wireless sync on the voyager. I had to check into this since I need my work email pushed to my device. I think it will be the same cost as the other phones which is 19.99 but Im not sure if the cost will go down for that feature. Mobile email will support your pop 3 email

The thing is, I don't use my calendar in my yahoo email nor do I use outlook. Since I have been a palm user since I can remember I have had no need to learn about these other features such as POP3 and get it now downloads. Basicaly I'm asking for layman's terms. I do not need my email pushed. I just want a website that I can back up all of my info (calendar & phonebook) so that I'm secure incase of emergency. Can someone break it down for me? Thanks 👀

Being that it's a Get It Now Phone and it uses brew, You will probably get the same functions of Wireless Sync as you would an EnV. E-mail and maybe calender based on your configuration. POP3 backs up your calerdar you enter in the phone while PC monitor sends info from outlook to your phone. Contacts would be disabled due to inoperability with Wireless Sync and Backup Assistant.

I don't think you'll even need wireless sync in your case. The phone comes with a usb data cable and is designed to sync your calendar and contacts with outlook. If you're just looking to backup I'd go for this option and skip the monthly cost. Wireless sync is really designed for people who need access to their email at all times. Unless you have someone other than yourself updating your calendar on a regular basis I don't think you'll need it. This might require changing the software you use on the computer but it's probably worth it. Hope this helps.

Again, this would be the ideal situation. Unfortunatly the USB cable that they include is only good for syncing music and nothing else. Dumb right!?!?! Why not go all the way with the feature?

So, No to wireless sync like your Treo, but yes to wireless sync through Get It Now. That application will sync your contacts, calendar and email (no notes/memos). The thing is that you need to subscribe to VCast to avoid per megabyte charges. It's pretty much the EnV with a interactive touch interface on the outside, but you do have to be on the newest (now called Nationwide) calling plans in order to have this phone on your account (which is where MB usage instead of minutes of use charges come into play).

No one at Verizon had this info and said this phone did not come equipt with the software to wireless sync...what new phone doesnt wireless sync?!?! One step forward two steps back.

Wireless Sync through Get It Now is $19.99/month. Keep in mind, the Voyager is NOT a PDA/BlackBerry/Smartphone. There is a reason why it is not wireless sync capable to the effect like Treo, Blackberry, Moto Q, Samsung i760. This phone is not for that genre of business.
