Keyboard lights????

I dont know if there is something wrong with my phone, but sometimes I cant get the keyboard lights to light up. Is there something wrong with my phone or is there a setting i need to fix? please help

ive come across the same problem. th ebest thing i was able to come up with.. idk if you lock ur phone or not.. but i lock mine, and if i go to type and keyboard lights wont go on then ill lock the fone wait for the screen to go black then tap any keyboard button and the light will pop on and stay on.

Its not a problem but rather a setting.
I can reproduce the "problem" as stated.
Your seeing the "Smart Backlight" option enabled.

If you press START, SETTINGS, POWER MANAGEMENT,
All the way at the bottom you will see
Smart Backlight, with the
option to Enable or Disable.

Enabled,
the phone will partially light up based on what the light sensor at the top right corner of the screen sees.

Disabled,
The phone lights up everyting, anytime you press any button.

This is supposed to help the battery last longer so I would leave it enabled.
If the keypad is dark , tapping the space bar once will make the keyboard light up.
If the surrounding light is dark, the keyboard should light, if the room is well lit, the keyboard ...
