Razr2 v9m vs. LG VX8700

I'm not a fan of any of the phones Verizon is carrying at the moment, but it's time for my upgrade. Does anyone have an opinion as to what phone is better, the v9m or the 8700? I'm leaning towards one of those, but don't know which to get. For people who have seen both, what do you think?

I tried the 8700 and returned it before my 30-day trial was up. Let me just say that I love LG phones and have had 3 of their phones in the past without ever a problem. The phone looked great, was very well-built and sturdy and slim. The inner screen was fantastic and the 2.0 mp camera was great. The ringers were loud and speakerphone was good. But I couldn't commit to the phone because of the tiny outer screen, and also the microSD card is behind the battery which is inconvenient.

I haven't seen the Razr 2 in person yet, but from the reviews and pics I've seen, it seems to have all the features that the 8700 had and more. One of the main diff is the 65k colors on the Moto vs the 262k on the 8700, but I am not sure if I will see a...

Form using the VX8700, Maxx, and V9m, I would go with either of the Motorolas.
Both Motorolas have mostly the same features, except the Maxx have an Autofocus Camera with Flash, while the V9m has a larger external screen and is thiner.

Do not go with the Maxx, the build quality is poor. Re: 8700 vs. the RAZR2, you'd have to justify the extra $150-200 (depending on what your NE2 situation is). Personally I don't care about the big outer screen on the RAZR2 since you can't read text messages on it, as far as I have heard. And the lack of expandable memory seems a little silly. A couple things to check at the store - is the vibrate much stronger on the RAZR2? Is the Clear button not right next to the Send button like it is on the 8700? Not a huge problem, but I have occasionally sent a message before I was done. And how is the fingerprint factor on the RAZR2? I just haven't heard anything to convince me that the RAZR2 is worth the extra coin, except for people who thi...

What do you mean the lack of expandable memory? On the Razr 2? You can expand with a micro SD card, up to 2gb.

I think the vibrate on the 8700 might have been stronger. The LGs tend to vibrate continuously for a few seconds while the Motos kind of pulsate. But I just bought the Razr 2 this morning and the vibrate is strong enough for me.

The clear button on the Moto is above the End button. The Send/End buttons on the Motos are reversed compared to the LGs

So far I am getting some fingerprints but nothing a little wipe with a cloth won't fix.

I got the phone for $249.99 with my NE2 upgrade, plus I have a $100 rebate. Plus before you upgrade, I suggest you call cust servie and extend your contract for a yr and you will get a...

They printed the rebate out when I purchased the phone. It looks like another receipt, and I have to mail it in before 11/13/07. The offer dates are for 9/4/07 to 10/8/07. The $100 rebate was also listed on the display, so I am sure everyone gets it.
