Ok, so I hate the VZW UI, do we know for a fact that its possible to put the Alltel on it?
can i buy the phone from al-tell and activate it on Verizon?

I'v tried a similer thing with trying to hook up a verizon phone with us cellular and they said I can't because of a "code" written into the phone or something like that. I'm not quite sure about alltel though. Hope it helps

you cant do this because if it is from a cellular network it has a code programmed in it somewhere down inside it somewhere that makes it only compatible with that carrier. somephones may have a loophole but not all phones can do what others do.

I am talking about flashing not just unlocking but replacing the whole OS on the phone....
either can be done. the limitations on the v9m are limitations of the OS, not the phone. I want the features of the v9 that can read text's on the outside... verizons OS just sucks and blows.
