3 hours talk time is not good even for the person who doesn't use their phone all day.

I agree. It says it's longer in GSM mode, so I guess users who don't have access to a charger all day need to figure out a way to lock calls to the GSM network 😛

Maybe it has something to do with the HSDPA.

GSM only gives an extra 25min of talk time according to the specs here... http://www.jig-me.com/motorolalaunch/razr2.ht ml

205min vs 180min...

But if the V9 will be anything like the V3xx (which it should be, since it will also be a P2K05 based phone with the Synergy UI), you can seem edit it to be able manually (and leave it) select the GSM (850/1900) band. I've done this with my V3xx and it works like a charm! 😎

Does your data access stay in 3G?

quite a difference between the RAZR2 V8 which has 500min (8.33hrs) of talk time!

3hrs (180min) of talk time is pretty average with the latest phones (high res screens, and data capabilities - when used - suck a lot of juice). And I guess UMTS (3G) is not as battery friendly.

V8 also has a different battery... BX40... whatever mah it is...

DO you realize that 3 hours is 180 minutes a day? 3,600 Minutes a month excluding weekends? 3 hours is fine, believe me. I guess the only ones complaining are those who don't like to charge their phone every night. If thin is what the people want, it comes at the expense of a huge hulking battery. If you want a Razr with a batter on it that looks like a tumor, go to Verizon they have a whole wall dedicated to them.
