AT&T Release Date

According to my local store manager yesterday (Friday 8/30), his system shows release/announcement on 9/21 with drop ship to stores on 9/25. This was after I showed him the AT&T Price sheet with the Q9 Global on it (he had not seen the sheet) and pointed out the phone on their new rebate forms that they had just received. Of course, he could not promise that these would actually happen.

I find it odd that they would have put the phone on a rebate form if they weren't going to meet the window. I realize dates slip but they also can issue a new rebate for for immediate use as well.

The 21st is so long away now! Ugh. I recently moved to Austin, Texas and Verizon is so horrible here. I'm afraid I might just have to pass on this phone because having no service everywhere I go is getting ridiculous.

Having used the current Moto Q and wanting the new Q9 Global on AT&T I can say it would be frustrating as hell to have the service issues you are having, but I can say I would take the Q9 Global over anything else.

Think of it this way, you get a 30 day test drive with AT&T port over, buy a phone use it and swap to a Q9 Global before the time runs out.

I might have to do that. There is a reason why 75% of Austin residents use AT&T. If I do a 30 day test drive, can I swap lets say a refurbished Blackjack with a Q9h while still getting a 2 year contract price?

I'm not sure about refurb units so you might want to check your local store, and be careful sales reps will tell you anything to get a sale. 😳

I work for AT&T and I can tell you, for sure, that if you buy a phone and its still in like-new condition, you can swap it out within 30 days, no matter what. 😁

(why oh why does this phone not have wifi....)

Is the Sept 21st date still on track? Is there any ballpark on pricing for the Q9h? 🙂

It has actually been on the current rebate forms since July 1 and we get new ones on September 16. I wasn't able to find an actual "release date", but it is on our new order pricing sheet effective September 21.

Is the Q9h release still on track for Sept 21? What type of introductory pricing might we expect?

I may have just answered my own question. According to the Boy Genius Report, the release date is Sept 25. However, my question regarding introductory pricing still stands.

There is no release date. I contacted att and Motorola and they don't have a release date. The only thing Motorola told me is that it might be released in 2 weeks because of some paper work they have to do. I wanted to know that if I get the one the att is going to release can I unlock it and use it for t-mobile since I think they don't have a 3G network?
