"Push" email would indicate that your server will push the email to your phone and client address. How often did you set the phone to check for updates?

How do youset the time intervals? Also, how can you stop it from getting emails, and you do it manualy?

Ive set my sync function to push so it should only go out and retrieve my email if i push sync...however my phone keeps updating my email anywway...im trying to save battery life,which is why i chose the push rahter than the time interval...it seems i have to go to running programs and manually stop sync client each time...this doesnt seem right to me...please help

Typically, a "push" system will push email to your phone as soon as it hits the mail server.

The method you describe, "go out and retrieve my email if i push sync," is PULL technology.

The "push" refers to a server pushing mail to you, not your finger pushing a button to retrieve mail.
