Bets on the Verizon 6800
So since we have all been patiently and inpatiently waiting for Verizon to come out with this ridiculous phone...Lets have some fun with this!
I am betting that October 15th is NOT the date our super powerful yet ugly little phone is coming out since it is October 12th and we have heard NOTHING about the phone. At least the ugly/boring Samsung Juke got a cool countdown website!

well i went to 2 verizon stores yesterday i both places told me not to buy the 6700 cause the 6800 should be out very soon and they were surprised it wasnt out already thats all can say

Yea, Ive been into a couple stores as well and apparently the 6800 is on their phone list. Unless Verizon is planning on surprising me for my birthday, I cant imagine them not really marketing this bad boy at all lol 😲

I stopped by the Middletown, NY vzw store. They said the 6800 'probably' wouldn't be released until Nov.

I am downtown (NYC) today and the Wall St. store said that they do have a vx6800 at the store, but couldn't display it until it was officially released.

I just received a wishy-washy reply (about offering the vx6800/mogul) from vzw stating:

I've been talking to the folks at my local Verizon store in PA.
They've had a dummy XV6800 for several weeks and received training on the phone last week.
For what it's worth, the store manager expects to receive phones "any day".

I have been with Verizon for years but decided to try the Iphone, I kept my Verizon account while I tried out the Iphone, which turned out to be a POS. So I took it back and purchased the 6700 which I really like, but the guy at Verizon told me the 6800 would be out within a month of my purchase and I could just take the 6700 back and get the 6800, well that was in the last week of July, he said the new phone would be out in the second week of August, WOW now I'm stuck with the 6700! I have a feeling VZ is not going to carry this phone for some reason.

They'll definitely release it. It's just a matter of when. With how cheap V-dubs is, they wouldn't have rebate pads made for it and dummy models in the stores if it wasn't coming out. I worked in the retail channel for 3 years and never ONCE saw a phone stall out once it's that far. So it's either a testing issue or a marketing strategy now.

This phone was exciting when I first heard rumors almost a year ago. The specs were hot.
Now, the specs are already sagging and are nothing special. 256megs of memory is NOTHING these days.
And the sad thing, for all the delays on this model which Verizon chalks up to testing. You can rest assured the phone will be buggy as all get-up. (Just like the XV6700 which was delayed almost half a year after Sprint had it. And it was still released buggy as can be.)
Verizon needs to wake up. Their service is great their phones are suckage. And even thought the iPhone lacks tremendously in several areas it is still a revolutionary device that's causing industry change. The sad thing is that it seems like almost all the alternatives to the...

ok seriously...sprint is now going to have the htc touch out before verizon gets the 6800 out? this is pathetic. sadly, what can you do. they are like the power company, so big that they could care less. year old phones, data plans that are expensive as all hell. eh. verizon should just make a deal with sprint that after they are done selling last years phones, verizon can sell what they have left in the warehouse.
