I'm in the market for a new phone, my contract with zerizon is up and i'm wondering do i stay with them and get a treo which seems to do everything the iphone promises or do i go with the iphone which definitely has a certain 'cool factor' to it? Also money isn't really a factor for me, functionality and network speed and coverage is from more important to me. 🙂

Not having a antenna stub would be nice.

There is much more flexibility and many many more 3ed party programs that are soo kick ass. Most of the power your able to get out of smart phones, is the ability to expand its uses.

I can remove the cameras SD card and place it in my phone and text or e-mail that picture. So the common tech to swap is very important.
I can go to a friends house and I can dump some any content I have on my card to his pc. Most computers have mutipule card readers.
Iphone has no removable memory... Wont be going to walmart and spontaneously print off a random picture from your phone some day.

The verizon or sprint CDMA network is the best for DATA use.. web browsing is faster. I live in a evdo area ...

I am in love with everything Apple. I've used one my whole life and could be considered a "super fan". However, I use a Treo 650 with Verizon Wireless, and I'm out of contract. Although I believe the iPhone will be a far superior phone than the Treo, Verizon Wireless is a much better service provider when it comes to DATA speed. If iPhone was on VZW, I'd be in line on Friday...

What do you want your phone to do for you, other than make calls?

look the iphone is cool looking, if your in the market for an ipod phone then get it, but if you want a superior network with much faster speeds and a more extensive network than anything cingular can hope to have stick with vzw. the treo can do a lot more than just play music, and it can do that. maybe cingular should work on it's network more rather than come out with cool phones that's data network can't move faster than a snail. oh and when they do get the 3g unless your in a larger city--fogettabout using it!!

I've used both Cingular and VZW and find them comparable, each has its dead spots.
