Ringtones / EVDO

I have just purchased an LG 8700 and want to know how to transfer ringtones from my old phone and/or add new ringtones that I record to my new phone. There seems to be several ways, but I don't know which would be the best, and least costly.

Also how do you turn off EVDO. I understand if you don't use the data features it is a good idea to turn this off.

Thanks for any help.

What timing you have I was just answering a question from Mike in Chicago along the same lines here;

That will only take care of your phonebook transfer as of this date. Obviously Susteens Engineers have not yet been able to crack the rest of the phone yet.

The Ringtones issue I solved by mining the ringtones off of the old phone using the Data Pilot system and saving them to my PC. Then I used www.funformobile.com to upload and e-mail the ringtones to my new 8700.

Finally the answer to your EVDO question is on here as well and I just found that in a thread here as well. This explains a little about EVDO;
