1.Turn of bluetooth when you are not using it, I just set a shortcut on the home keys.
2. Turn off evdo if you don't use data!

I just took these two steps last week and my battery lasts 4x longer. I use about 2hrs talk time a day and i am making it two days before charging!

With normal use(like an 1hr) you should get 3-4 days!

Before doing this i was charging every night.

you need to go into the service menu. Its a bunch of numbers, do a search for it, since I don't know what it is off hand.

Ok I turned mine off and oddly enough I am in a stronger 1x area than EVDO and text and pix messages seem to be going through faster??

Question: Will only using the phone in 1X affect the voice codec / quality at all? Will there ever be an occasion where there is an EVDO signal and no 1X?
Inquiring minds want to know...... 😎

shouldn't be any quality or coverae loss. Verizon still has a lot of phones that do not have evdo. Remember you can always turn it back on if you need to but i have not had any problems yet with mine

Yes I know, the problem is remembering the secret decoder ring code to manipulate it with. 🙂
