Hey Guys,

Got my 8700 this afternoon.. So what do I say , It's nice.. I am concerned about the overall fragile type of feel it has..

The design is gorgeous but there are a few concerns.

The charging port is on the side and its very awkward as with any side charging port. As we know it's better on the bottom so you can hold the phone without the cord being in your way.

The Inside Screen is fantastic, it's huge and actually about 1/4" longer than the 8300 screen. The resolution is great.

The Operating system is nice but seems a bit slower than the other LG's I have.

The keypad is good for a Membrane flat keypad. 100 times better than the Razr or Krazr but it's still flat and takes some getting used to. You can text message d...

Good review. Somebody else complained about battery life and dropped calls but I have my doubts about whether they even have the phone. Let us know your experience with those.

Nice review. Thanks.

I am disappointed about the speaker issues.

The speaker phone is loud enough, I have been using it for days and it's pretty good.

Better news is that we started doing some bluetooth testing and so far it performs better than the 8600 and 8300 as far as echo issues.

There is a bug that each day when you reconnect to your headset, I am having to reset the phone. The bluetooth gets confused and can't reconnect, this is a huge issue but hopefully resolved in software..

The Metallic theme it comes with is too slow but the regular one is okay.

Camera seems real good.

The keypad is still tough to get used to but it's alright.

The question is by next week will I be back on my 8300 ?

Sounds like another disappointment then. Why is it that every new phone that comes out is just a little bit worse then the previous one it is replacing? This isn't a phenomenon that is limited to just one manufacturer or one provider either. Granted they make them look nicer and pack in more features but somehow in that process make the overall quality just a little bit worse. Oh well....

This phenomenon as you describe it may be somewhat do to "design" on the manufactur'e part.

By never (ever) eliminating all annoyances to a product the builder can (in effect) keep an ever hopeful market for the next issue.

To go back one step while going ahead (maybe) one and a half steps may be frustrating to the consumer. But the designer has a future bottom line to consider.

What good is it to build you something that fixes all of your problems?

Not good for the electronic designers.

The improved echo issues is promising however the bug you mention has me very concerned as I use my bluetooth headset A LOT!

Couple of clarification questions though:
- Not sure what you mean by "each day" do you mean after each reboot?
- What happens for the next attempted connect following a successful connect?
- When you say you have to "reset" I

It may be a deal breaker for me also. I have a Plantronics PL510 with the desktop kit to allow me to use the BT headset with my office and cell phones (VERY slick setup BTW, smooth transition from desk to cell phone when both are in range of the headset). Sometimes the headset disconnects from my E815 while I'm on the desk phone but it will then re-connect.

I'm looking at the 8700 to replace my E815.

I have the 8100 and it constantly loses the BT connection and does not reconnect automatically. Only reconnects with a headset like Jabra, which according to them, reconnects automatically. I believe Logitech Freedom also. But this has been an 'on-going problem' ever since VZW installed the music software (v04). Tried Moto and Sammy sucked & sent everything to text. If that's the case again, they can keep the phone.
