I just got this phone. I have a couple of question.s
1 where do i get the usb cord and drivers for this phones?
I am using xp home editions for windows
2 How do I find and use tthe speaker phone?
3 How do i get my own ringtones on this phone?

Can't answer 1 or 3 but I could answer number 2. The speaker phone key is located on the right side of your phone when you are looking at your phone. It is underneath the camera button. Just press the button before or after you initiate a call. Hope that helps.

You can get a USB on ebay. You can use the one for the a930 as it fits this model. As far as mp3 ringtones what I do is clip a song I have in my library to about 20 sec then send it to my phone via email - your phone number@vzwpix.com

thank you . By the way I don't understand one thing. Someone mentioned a usb cord but the model number was not for u 540 . Does that matter? Also, what program do you use to clip the mp3.? One, more thing with the usb cord does ith come with the drivers or do I have to buy them from somewherre else?

You can use the USB cord for the A930 model. Not sure about the drivers as I have the essentials kit. I forgot the program to clip mp3s as it was a trial for me but you can find it online if you goole it 🙂

You can try Audacity. It's freeware, and it's a very capable program, but it's a little advanced. It's easy enough to just highlight a section of the song and save it as a separate file, though....
