Haven't heard about the n75. I doubt that Cingular will pick up the 6126. Has anyone heard about the 6085?

Well, according to the Boy Genius (who has pretty much the best record out there for cellphone rumor speculation/prediction), the N75 will be out very soon - by the end of February.

The 6126 thing sounds dubious - the phone was set to be released last summer, but was rejected. It could be coming up again, but usually, once a phone is rejected, it's off the map for good. However, there is a note on here:

About a new Nokia 'ram' which could be the 6126.

I really hope you're wrong about the N75, though. I finally narrowed it down to that phone to replace my beloved 6682.

The N75 is on the Feb price sheet. Everyone is saying mid Feb. Think someone is trying to sell you on something else or an uninformed sales person. Look at www.boygeniusreport.com/Documents/CingularPri ceList.pdf

I call shenanigans on this poster. Account created today and this is their only post. Shenanigans. There I said it again.

I am a corporate sales rep for Cingular in SC. I just talked with my Nokia rep and she confirmed that the N75 has been pushed back to April. She said that she just found out yesterday that Cingular wants new software on the N75 and that pushed it back till April. The Nokia n76 looks good, but it will not be sold in the U.S. Correct, Cingular is talking with Nokia about releasing the 6126 soon, but nothing is solid on that. The bad thing is that the 6126 is edge and not 3g. Nokia will be releasing the 2610 and the 6085 the first week of Feb. They will be replacing the 6030 and the 6102i. The 6102i will be a gophone with Cingular. YES, it is true Nokia will not have a 3G device with Cingular until at least April! Very sad. All this is true, ju...

I was wrong about the release date on those 2 nokias by the way. First week of feb is the final approval from cingular, it should be released shortly after, as soon as I have more info, I will let you know. Also, I used a Motorola v3xx today, and I was really impressed! It is capable of 3.6 mbp 3g speeds, really impressive.

What is the 6085? Is there a time frame for the 6126?

Don't wait for the 6126; just get the 6131 from an importer. I got one last July and it's fantastic. Also, don't buy in to the "we'll program your phone for Cingular for an extra $25..." nonsense the importers try to sell you on. Nokia will text the settings to your phone (GPRS, MMS, etc) for free from their site. 6131 is the way to go until the N75 surfaces.

Gaijin sez: Get the 6131 from an importer.

Excellent Advice. I did this late last year My unlocked 6131 came from Malaysia via the good folks at Amazon.com. It's the best phone I've ever had. Beautiful display.

BTW, if you have the phone, be sure to download the PC phone suite and presenter from www.nokia-asia.com. The PC phone suite has turned my phone into my defacto PDA. Also, the following apps are essential: operamini and google maps. If you have trouble setting up these apps to connect to the web, follow the instructions found here:

I spoke with a Nokia rep, as well. He pretty well said the same. The 6126 is coming to Cingular (I retract my earlier statement). The 6085 will replace the 6102i, which will be a gophone. He said that the N75 could possibly be pushed back go April. I sure hope not. I really was looking forward to buying a 3g Nokia, asap. The N75 prototype that he showed my was awesome.

Oh no!!! ANOTHER delay!! Looks like I'm going to have to give the MOTORAZR V3xx a closer look. Really thought the N75 was going to be the one for me, but after waiting so long, through mulipule delays, I don't want to wait another 3 months! Arrrg!!!
