Text Messaging Question**Please help**

Jan 21, 2008, 8:13 PM
So I just got this phone from At&t refurbished. I text like crazy and have noticed that almost all of the time it can take anywhere from 7 to 33 seconds to just open a regular text message and it also takes a really long time to wait for the phone to let me reply. Does anyone else have this problem or do I need to return this because it is a piece of poop? Also, is there any type of battery that has a longer battery life. It eats up the battery bad from text messaging.

Now when you say, "open a regular text message" you mean open one that was sent to you, correct? If that's the case, then yes something sounds wrong. It should take about 1 second to open a text message up, whether that be on the front display or the main display of the phone. Now, since you say that you text like crazy, maybe you have filled up a good chunk of your phone memory with text messages, and that is slowing down the phone. Maybe it's time to delete some from your memory.

About the battery, no there is no other battery other than the one that came with the phone. So you'll be stuck charging it every night.

Yeah. I had the same problem. It is simply a matter of emptying your message boxes. It sucks I know. The only thing I can think of is that it is indexing them or something like that every time you go into messaging. I had the problem bad and havent had it once since i clean up my boxes daily.
