Music Downloads

Jun 20, 2007, 9:03 AM
When I download music from either Yahoo or
Walmart to my PC they work fine. When I
transfer them to my N75 the phone say something
like "renew you license." What I want is
a music site where I can buy songs by the
track and download them thru my PC to the
phone and have them work.

What you can do to get around the issue - and I know it is a hassle - is burn the song(s) to CD and then rip them back to mp3. This removes any DRM and makes the song open. Itunes works great for importing (ripping) the songs, but you have to change the preferences. Itunes is not automatically set to download (rip) songs as mp3s.

Thanks, I'll try it.

I tryed doing it with Windows Media Player and
it seemed not to do anything. I burned the
tunes to the cd without a problem, but could
not restore them with mp3 format.

In order to rip the CD you now have and create MP3s, you can use iTunes. Windows media player will NOT allow you to create MP3s without an add-on which, last time I checked, you have to pay for. iTunes is free and will do this without an add-on, but you will have to modify the preferences.

Part of that is not true. Windows Media Player does allow you to rip CD's to Mp3. I do it all the time and have done it for years.

Just use Napster or Yahoo Music. Much easier...
