I work for a Cingular Corp. store and the phone was suppose to be sold as of last saturday but on friday we got an email stating that all phones had to be sent back due to software problems. Never been a Samsung fan, but man thats gotta suck. If you have one, exchange, it has to do with the phone software getting corrupted after getting being conected to a PC but may also crash on you w/o a connection to a PC

I thought they already fixed this issue, and the new shipments of phones are already out

I also recieved the same email last week but when I placed an order yesterday with an A707 for myself, I got a confirmation saying that everything was being sent out. Unfortunately, today I got most of the phones I ordered but the shipment was missing the A707 among other phones. Hopefully it comes in tomorrow. Later.

I had two on hold (just waiting for the rebate to start on Monday) last Friday (11/3) at a Cingular store (not a 3rd party retailer) in Louisiana.
Monday I was told that they could not sell me the phone since it had been recalled and they had to sent them all back.
Any news on when/if it will be coming out? What about the Nokia N75? Better phone anyway?

The software issue was that the phone would not play songs from Yahoo Music or Napster with the digital rights coding, all it took was a simple update and all stores nationwide should have updated inventory by this Friday.

The updated phones have a pink dot on the box. If you have the dot, you are ok.

The new ones should start being shipped to stores on monday with orange dots. Personlly Id wait for the N75 (if it doesnt get cancelled, 6126, 6282) I use an N80 and when the N75 comes out Im only getting ti for the 3G speeds. There are going to be better phones than the SYNC, if you do want a good 3G muisc phone just get the CU500 or if you wanna wait CU500v (which is rumored to support video conference). Out of these though, N75 is the best bang for your buck
