1. If your concerned with the long term reliability of the two way hinge (I am not), you could always reduce the strain on the hinge by opening the phone in the same axis as irt's pivot point. That is, open the phone from it's right side in portraight mode and open it from it's left side (next to the top) fo landscape mode.

2. Re: poor blurry pictures commented on by some:
a. Check to make sure that the picture resolution has not been set or defaulted to its lowest seting (160X120. I hace a suspicion that if your memory is low the camera may automatically default to a lower resolution setting.
b. Make sure "Quality" is set on "Fine".
c. Check your White Balance setting.
d. VERY IMPORTANT! It is very easy to smear the glass or plastic ...

I still say if you want great quality pics get a standalone camera.

I agree 100% but, my comment was just to explain some possible reasons that some were indicating that the Samsung pictures were always poor and blurry (presumably compared to other 1.3 megapixel camera phones), not to suggest that it could ever substitute for a good digital camera (I have a Canon G4 with the separate Canon flash.)

I still like to have a phone with a camera because I have used it on numerous occasions to show my wife some item of interest that I came across while shopping alone.Comments on the net that the LG VX-8600 camera was better is probably true. The camera on my LG VX-8000 seemed to be better than the one in the Samsung but, overall, I am still a happy camper.

well, if you want a better camera phone than go with an lg 9900 has a much better camera and nicer screen.
