How to deactivate the trackball????

OK, for those of you with the pearl you will understand this frustration. When you get a phone call, if you move the trackball it will silence the ring. So if you have the phone in your pocket and are walking there are times when the phone might of rang but you didn't even know because the trackball was "moved" while you were walking. Any help to deactivate this function would help. thanks

Lock the keyboard by pressing and holding the "#" for a couple seconds before you put it in your pocket. That should solve the problem. You can answer the call while the keyboard is still locked, but to unlock it for other to use otherwise press "#" then "send".

I have the same issue. I keep my keys locked all the time and it still silences the ring. When I pull it out of the holster or my pocket if the trackball moves at all the ringer stops.

Having the latest software update for the Pearl also helps with this as well. A lot of the bugs that were found in the Pearl when it was first released September 12, 2006n have been fixed with the new software updates.

You could try changing the sensitivity of the trackball. I personally haven't tried it, but that could work. I know there is an option in one of the menus.

I just downloaded the latest softare update and with it, the trackball no longer silences the ringtone, so it has been working great. The side volume keys silence the ringtone, fyi.
