Date & Time question

I have my phone set to Central Time Zone (-6) being in KY and under the date & time settings, it shows at the bottom my network time and date as being correct. However, when I "update the time" on the menu, it shows that my time is one hour behind the network time. Why is that???!?!?!? I have to manually set it to match the network time! So two questions basically:

1. Am I going to have to change the phone manually when I enter new time zones? Or will the phone do this on it's own?

I'm guessing that you didn't install the new DST patch that was offered by RIM. Since DST started three weeks early this year, it threw off all the phones. RIM made a patch available to all BB users that fixed the problem.

If you don't want to install the patch you can manually switch your phone to EST, or wait until DST was supposed to start under the old rules. I think that is this weekend.

go to www.discoverblackberry.com. In the lower right corner you will see a link that says "Learn about Daylight Savings Time Changes". Click on the link and follow the directions.

That should do it.

Ok...I am at the site, but apparently I'm stupid... How do I know what to do now? Which one to go to? Does it automatically take care of it completely? Let me know what I should do. I apologize for my ignorance! Thanks!

You may want to check with you wireless carrier. I'm with TMO and they sent me a text message with the link. All I had to do was open the link and download it.
